Abu Dhabi Fund Chief Praises Jordan's Investment Climate

Amman, Aug. 26 (Petra) -- Abu Dhabi Fund for Development Director-General Mohamed Suwaidi praised Jordan's investment environment, describing the Kingdom as an attractive destination for investors and highlighting recent legislative reforms aimed at boosting investment.

Speaking to the Jordan News Agency (Petra) on Wednesday, Suwaidi said the reforms have strengthened Jordan’s investment framework and are expected to create a more favorable environment for attracting additional investment to the Kingdom.

He described the partnership between the fund and Jordan as one of its most successful relationships with governments, expressing intention to further strengthen it in line with the strategic ties between the United Arab Emirates and Jordan.

Suwaidi highlighted the historic nature of the partnership, which dates to 1974 and has involved financing numerous development projects in Jordan.

He added that evaluations of the projects financed by the fund over the years have demonstrated their success and their significant contribution to Jordan's economic and development progress.

Earlier, the government announced that the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development will finance vocational and technical education and energy projects in Jordan worth $110 million, in addition to providing $300 million in new concessional financing to support the Kingdom's general budget.
