Environment Ministry signs MoU to promote green skills projects

Amman, Aug. 12 (Petra) – The Ministry of Environment and the non-profit Qutoof Professional Development (Qutoof PD) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to enhance cooperation in supporting the transition to a green economy, establishing the principles of the circular economy, and developing green skills and capabilities.

According to a ministry statement issued Wednesday, the MoU was signed by Minister of Environment Dr. Ayman Suleiman and Qutouf PD CEO Buthaina Abu Roza, in the presence of the ministry's Secretary-General, Dr. Omar Arabiat, and several representatives from both sides.

Talking at the signing ceremony, Suleiman said the MoU represents a "significant" step to expand national partnerships in the sustainability field and translate national trends to achieve a green and circular economy into applicable programs and initiatives.

He noted that these initiatives will contribute to improving resource efficiency, supporting innovation, developing green skills and jobs, and empowering youth and entrepreneurs.

He also highlighted the importance of investing in building national capacities and developing competencies to align with the rapid changes in the labor market and requirements of sustainable development.
