House committee discusses merger of military and civil consumer corporations

Amman, July 15 (Petra) -- The Lower House's Economics and Investment Committee met on Wednesday with employees of the Civil Service Consumer Corporation to discuss the ongoing administrative merger with the Military Consumer Establishment.

During the meeting, chaired by lawmaker Khalid Abu Hassan, the committee listened to feedback and concerns raised by staff members regarding the integration of the two state-run retail entities.

The meeting was attended by members of parliament Hussein Krishan, Ibrahim Al-Tarawneh, Baker Al-Heisah, and Mohammad Kataw.

Abu Hassan and the attending lawmakers assured the employees that the committee would actively follow up on their concerns with the relevant government authorities. They emphasized the lower house's commitment to finding solutions that guarantee a successful merger without compromising the rights and job security of the corporations' personnel.

The committee reiterated that all administrative and legal procedures regarding the consolidation of the two public institutions would be executed in strict compliance with the law to serve the public interest.
