MoU signed to support Palestinian agricultural sector

Amman, Aug. 15 (Petra) – Head of Agricultural Engineers Association (AEA), Ali Abu Nuqta, and Director General of the Jordanian-Palestinian Company for Marketing Agricultural Products (JPACO), Dr. Ibrahim Sharif, signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to enhance cooperation and coordination, and open new horizons for work in agricultural and professional fields.

According to an AEA statement issued on Saturday, Abu Nuqta said the memo comes within the framework of supporting resilience of the Palestinian people and strengthening capabilities of the agricultural sector and agricultural engineers in Palestine.

He called for benefiting from the association's expertise and technical and professional capabilities to support efforts aimed at developing the agricultural sector and enhancing its capabilities.

In turn, Sharif commended the association's role in supporting the sector and agricultural engineers, stressing the importance of mutual partnership and coordination in developing capabilities and competencies, exchanging expertise, and enhancing opportunities for cooperation in agricultural and marketing fields.

As for its axes, the memo features cooperation in several areas, mainly developing the sector operations, enhancing skills of agricultural engineers, training and capacity building, exchanging expertise, information, and technical support.

The two sides will also support agricultural marketing, value chains, and exports, and collaborate on agricultural initiatives, projects, events, and activities.
