Seasonal Summer Weather to Hold Through Saturday

Amman, Aug. 12 (Petra) -- Typical summer weather is forecast across most regions through Saturday, with temperatures easing slightly on Friday while hot to very hot conditions persist in the desert and low-lying areas, according to the Jordan Meteorological Department.

Wednesday will see seasonally typical conditions across most parts of the country, while the Badia will remain hot. Very hot weather is forecast in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba, with moderate northwesterly winds becoming active at times, particularly in desert areas.

Little change is expected on Thursday, with the same weather pattern continuing across the country. Seasonal conditions will prevail across most regions, while hot weather persists in the Badia and very hot temperatures continue in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba. Moderate northwesterly winds are expected to strengthen occasionally.

A slight drop in temperatures is forecast on Friday. Despite the decline, typical summer conditions will continue across most regions, while the Badia, the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba remain hot. Some low-altitude clouds are also expected, accompanied by moderate northwesterly winds that may become active at times in the Badia.

Temperatures are expected to remain broadly stable on Saturday, with seasonal summer weather across most areas. Hot conditions will continue in the Badia, while the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba are forecast to return to very hot conditions. Moderate northwesterly winds will become active at intervals.

Wednesday's temperatures are forecast to reach 35 degrees Celsius in East Amman and 32 C in West Amman, with highs of 31 C in the northern highlands, 32 C in the Sharah highlands and 35 C across the plains.

Higher readings are expected in the desert and low-lying regions, with temperatures reaching 39 C in the Badia, 41 C in the northern Jordan Valley, 42 C at the Dead Sea, and 43 C in both the southern Jordan Valley and Aqaba.
