Amman, March 18 (Petra) – Minister of Agriculture, Dr. Saeb Khraisat, and the Australian Ambassador to Jordan, Paula Ganley, discussed ways to enhance bilateral cooperation in various agricultural fields.

According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Agriculture on Wednesday, Khraisat underscored the "deep-rooted and friendly" Jordanian-Australian relations, noting the importance of building upon these ties to broaden collaboration in the agricultural sector to serve mutual interests.

Khraisat called for leveraging "advanced" Australian expertise, particularly in agricultural technology and innovation, affirming the ministry's commitment to strengthening cooperation in training and capacity building for technical personnel.

Noting Jordan's "attractive" environment for agricultural investment, he called for enhanced joint investment opportunities between both countries' public and private sectors, especially in livestock and agricultural inputs, which would contribute to supporting food security and achieving "sustainable" agricultural development.

For her part, the Australian ambassador expressed pride in the level of bilateral relations, stressing her country’s keenness to develop cooperation with Jordan, mainly in the agricultural sector, and strengthen the partnership by exchanging expertise, technology transfer and the encouragement of joint investments.
