Aqaba Container Terminal names Jose Rueda as new CEO

Amman, May 17 (Petra) -- The Aqaba Container Terminal (ACT), Jordan's primary maritime gateway to the Levant and wider region, announced on Sunday the appointment of Jose Rueda as its new Chief Executive Officer.

Rueda succeeds the company's former chief executive, Harald Nijhof.

The container terminal operator said in a statement that the leadership transition represents a pivotal strategic step in its ongoing efforts to strengthen its position as a central hub for regional trade and global logistics services.

Rueda takes the helm with decades of international experience in the shipping, port management, and logistics sectors. His career spans operations across diverse global markets, including Spain, Mexico, Turkiye, and Costa Rica.

He holds a Master of Business Administration from EAE Business School in Barcelona, alongside degrees in Marine Sciences and Maritime Transport from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia.

The executive transition comes as the company seeks to expand its service capabilities, drive operational innovation, and advance its standing as a premier commercial and transit logistics hub serving Jordan and its neighboring markets.
