Army shoots down Three Iranian Missiles Targeting Kingdom

Amman, July 17 (Petra)-- The air defense systems intercepted and shot down three Iranian missiles that entered the Kingdom's airspace on Friday morning and were targeting Jordanian territory, a military source at the General Command of the Jordan Armed Forces–Arab Army said.

The source said the missiles were intercepted in accordance with established defensive measures and operational procedures to safeguard Jordan's sovereignty, secure its airspace, and ensure the safety and security of its citizens.

The source confirmed that the interception operation resulted in no casualties or material damage. Royal Engineering Corps teams were immediately deployed to the sites where missile debris landed, securing the areas and handling the remnants in line with approved technical and security procedures.

The source added that the Jordan Armed Forces remain on high alert, continuously monitoring the Kingdom's airspace and closely following regional developments to respond to any potential threat in accordance with the approved rules of engagement.

The source also urged the public to rely on official sources for news and information and to refrain from spreading rumors or sharing unverified reports.
