Awqaf Ministry talks advancing digital transformation, data management

Amman, May 24 (Petra) – Secretary-General of the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Ismail Khatib met Sunday with directors of the ministry's departments and field offices to discuss advancing digital transformation and improving data management in the Awqaf sector.

The efforts aim to enhance institutional performance and increase the efficiency of services provided in line with national modernisation and digitalisation strategies.

Khatib stressed the importance of establishing centralised and continuously updated geospatial databases to support improved workflows and informed decision-making.

He called for leveraging modern technology to develop the Awqaf sector and strengthen institutional efficiency.

He highlighted the role of digital transformation in enhancing oversight and accountability of Awqaf funds and assets through digital reporting systems, which help improve transparency and strengthen financial monitoring and management.

Khatib underscored the importance of utilising data analytics and artificial intelligence technologies to improve the efficiency of Awqaf investments and maximise their developmental and social impact.

He noted that digital transformation contributes to accelerating internal procedures, simplifying processes and improving service quality, affirming the ministry's commitment to upgrading its digital infrastructure in line with the government's modernisation plans.

The meeting reviewed the "Takammul" platform, a digital government database designed to automate and organise data, document information and provide electronic services to institutions and citizens, facilitating easier access to information while reducing paperwork.
