Amman, Nov. 4 (Petra) - The South Korean Embassy in Jordan and the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) hosted a 2026 gathering for graduates of Korean programs in Jordan, bringing together more than 130 participants in KOICA training programs and the Global Korea Scholarship (GKS).
South Korean Ambassador to Jordan Kim Pil-woo said in his opening remarks that prosperity stems from human potential, adding that the gathering of skilled professionals showcases the success of the educational partnership and joint investment between South Korea and Jordan.
Jordanian government officials who participated in KOICA training programs shared the knowledge and expertise they gained through specialized courses tailored to their professional fields.
KOICA organized two training programs for Jordanian officials in 2026 to bolster their expertise, develop their professional skills and contribute to national development.
GKS graduates shared their academic experiences in South Korea, outlining the importance of cultural exchange, academic enrichment and international educational cooperation.
The embassy noted that KOICA has been providing training opportunities for Jordan since 1991 through its Capacity Improvement and Advancement for Tomorrow (CIAT) initiative, which focuses on developing human resources to support sustainable social and economic growth.
Since 1967, the South Korean government has also offered scholarships to international students through the GKS program, enabling them to pursue undergraduate and graduate studies at South Korean universities.
The program seeks to promote international educational exchange and bolster ties of friendship between South Korea and participating countries.
