Jordan strengthens tourism presence in European markets

Amman, October 18 (Petra) The Jordan Tourism Board (JTB) concluded its participation in TTG Travel Experience 2024, held in Rimini, Italy, from October 14–16, with 20 Jordanian tourism entities and organisations.

The participation aimed to strengthen Jordan's presence in European markets, attract more Italian visitors and promote the Kingdom's diverse tourism offerings.

JTB spokesperson Hani Dabbas said the board held around 25 meetings with Italian tour operators, travel agents and digital platforms to explore marketing partnerships and develop tourism programs tailored to European travelers.

The JTB hosted a "Jordanian Night" in Rimini, attended by more than 80 Italian tourism professionals and media representatives.

The event highlighted Jordan's tourism developments, particularly the Baptism Site (Al-Maghtas) and preparations for the 2030 commemoration marking 2,000 years since the baptism of Jesus Christ.

It promoted Jordan's calendar of events and festivals to encourage longer visitor stays.

Dabbas said that the JTB is working with tourism partners to turn the meetings into practical collaborations, increase visitor numbers, support tourism businesses and strengthen the sector’s contribution to the national economy.

He added that participation in the fair, alongside an outdoor advertising campaign in Rimini, forms part of the board’s strategy to build long-term partnerships with Italy’s tourism sector through 2027 and beyond, positioning Jordan as a safe destination offering diverse cultural, religious, natural and adventure experiences.
