Jordan, Sudan explore investment, reconstruction opportunities

Amman, July 13 (Petra) - The Amman Chamber of Commerce (ACC) met on Monday with Sudanese Ambassador to Jordan Hassan Dahab for talks on boosting economic ties and fostering closer business relations between. ACC President Khalil Tawfik stated that the private sector seeks to expand trade and investment with Sudan, leveraging the Kingdom's expertise in commerce, services, logistics, and transportation.

Tawfik presented plans to deepen institutional cooperation, including a proposed memorandum of understanding between the ACC and its Sudanese counterpart. He urged the reactivation of the Jordanian-Sudanese business council to connect business leaders, explore investment opportunities, and support Sudan's economic development and reconstruction efforts.

To drive trade forward, Tawfiq called for an updated database on the Sudanese economy and investment landscape, adding that the ACC is eager to host Sudanese business delegations to explore joint ventures.

The ambassador, for his part, provided an update on the situation in Sudan and said that Khartoum is committed to expanding economic ties with Jordan. He noted that Sudan seeks to draw on the Kingdom's expertise in reconstruction, logistics, digital transformation, urban planning, and medical tourism.

ACC board members proposed creating a targeted list of priority sectors, facilitating direct business-to-business meetings, and exchanging actionable market data to turn opportunities into tangible economic partnerships.
