PSD: Recent Irbid Brawl Litigated at Jordan's Courts

Amman, Sept. 15 (Petra) -- Public Security Directorate (PSD) spokesperson said the recent brawl in Irbid that circulated on social media was fueled by a neighborhood dispute, adding that the two main culprits were arrested.

According to the spokesperson, the police was tipped off on an altercation in one of Irbid's neighborhoods on Sept. 8.

Security personnel responded immediately and found two people were evacuated to hospital for treatment after being assaulted, as an investigation was opened at the scene, the official said.

Investigators, working from witness accounts, identified two minors involved in the brawl, one of whom was an Arab national, and was accomplice in the stabbing crime.

The spokesperson added that both were arrested, referred to the judiciary and detained at a juvenile rehabilitation center, as the two perpetrators are still in custody.

The spokesperson urged the public to obtain information on such cases from official sources only, noting that all investigative and judicial procedures have been completed and the case is now before the courts.
