Amman, Feb 23 (Petra) - The Ministry of Social Development on Monday organized a group Ramadan iftar for orphans and children without family support who are beneficiaries of several care homes affiliated with the ministry.

Minister of Social Development Wafa Bani Mustafa, during the banquet held at Manhal International Schools, said that organizing and holding Ramadan iftars for orphans and children without family support is part of the ministry’s keenness and continuous efforts to integrate them and maintain their connection with their peers during the holy month of Ramadan and throughout the year, in a manner consistent with the values of solidarity and compassion.

She commended the efforts of many volunteers who are graduates of care homes in organizing the gathering of orphaned children, which aims to involve beneficiaries of the affiliated homes in social activities in a family atmosphere within a Ramadan entertainment program that includes competitions and the distribution of gifts, with the participation of several supervisors and caregivers in the care homes.

Bani Mustafa indicated that, within the framework of ongoing efforts to provide purposeful programs for orphans and children without family support, the ministry continues cooperation and partnership with the voluntary sector and civil society institutions in delivering services to the groups under its care, in accordance with the highest standards of best practices.

The activities included entertainment segments appropriate to the holy month of Ramadan and the distribution of gifts to participating orphaned children and those without family support.
