UAE, Lebanon, and Bahrain Condemn Terrorist Attack on Karak Church, Reaffirm Solidarity with Jordan

AMMAN, Oct. 23 (Petra) – Arab nations on Friday expressed strong condemnation of the terrorist shooting inside the church in Hmoud village, Karak Governorate, which left several dead and injured, expressing their full solidarity with the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.

The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the terrorist act, reaffirming the Emirates’ permanent rejection of all forms of violence, extremism, and terrorism aimed at destabilizing security. The Ministry expressed its sincere condolences to the families of the victims, the Jordanian government, and the people, wishing a speedy recovery to all those injured.

In Beirut, Lebanese President Joseph Aoun denounced the attack on worshippers and mourners during a funeral service inside the church, describing it as a criminal act that violates all religious and human values.

President Aoun emphasized that terrorism targets peaceful coexistence and societal harmony, expressing Lebanon's firm standing alongside Jordan, its confidence in the Kingdom's security agencies to bring the perpetrators to justice, and extending heartfelt condolences to His Majesty King Abdullah II, the Jordanian people, and the victims' families.

Similarly, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain strongly condemned the armed terrorist attack on the church in Hmoud village, expressing Bahrain's deep sympathy and complete solidarity with Jordan.

The Ministry affirmed its support for all measures taken by the Kingdom to safeguard its security, combat terrorism and extremism, and apprehend the fugitives, stressing its unequivocal rejection of targeting places of worship and terrifying innocent civilians.
