Army chief attends graduation of 2nd batch of National Service conscripts

Amman, Sep. 15 (Petra) –Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Maj. Gen. Majdi Mohammad Harasis, on Tuesday patronized the graduation ceremony of the second cohort of National Service conscripts.

Held at the National Service Center in Shweier Military Camp, the event was attended by senior officers from the Jordanian Armed Forces (JAF)– Arab Army and the draftees' families.

The ceremony began with a recitation of verses from the Holy Quran. Attendees paid tribute to the National Service conscripts who lost their lives in a traffic accident in the desert Highway recently, wishing the injured a speedy recovery.

Talking at the ceremony, Director of the JAF Mobilization and Popular Army Department said the graduation marks "culmination of a comprehensive" training phase.

During this period, he noted that conscripts passed programs covering military training, awareness, and life skills, as well as efforts that contributed to enhancing their capabilities, refining their characters, and fostering a spirit of discipline, teamwork, and responsibility.

Holding a parade, the conscripts demonstrated hand-to-hand combat, silent drill maneuvers and military exercises and activities, reflecting the "high level" of training the conscripts had attained during their service.

Concluding the ceremony, Harasis presented awards to "outstanding" conscripts in recognition of their excellence during the training period, in the presence of the batch's families and senior JAF officers.
