Amman, Aug. 7 (Petra)-- Eleven civilians, including a woman and a four-year-old child who sustained second-degree burns, were injured in Houthi attacks targeting the Saudi region of Najran on Thursday, the spokesperson for the Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen, Maj. Gen. Turki Al-Maliki, said Friday.
Al-Maliki said the Houthi militia carried out the attacks using indiscriminate projectiles targeting civilian sites, describing the assaults as a blatant violation of international humanitarian law and customary rules through the deliberate targeting of civilians and civilian objects.
His remarks were reported by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) early Friday.
Al-Maliki stressed that the coalition’s joint forces command would continue taking deterrent measures against such terrorist attacks to ensure the protection of civilians.
