Amman, November 2 (Petra) – Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply Ya’rub Qudah said that 16 investment projects have benefited from a package of incentives in Al-Hussein Bin Abdullah II Development City in Kara, with a total investment value of JD 10.5 million and the creation of around 250 job opportunities.

Qudah said the incentives were introduced in line with His Majesty King Abdullah II’s directives to promote sustainable development, generate employment and enhance the business environment.

He added that the new projects bring the total number of investments in the city to 48, with combined investments reaching JD 47.3 million and 960 jobs created.

The minister stressed the government's continued efforts to attract investments to industrial cities across the Kingdom, particularly in Karak, through targeted promotional plans, training programmes for jobseekers, and facilities that align with the goals of the Economic Modernisation Vision.

He revealed the approval of a new development zone in Ghor Al-Mazra'a for agricultural industries, which will enjoy similar incentives to those offered in Karak Industrial City.

The incentive package includes: Reduced land prices to JD 10 per m² instead of JD 25 for areas exceeding 20 dunums (up to 100 dunums).

Electricity tariff reductions ranging from 25% to 75% for 10 years, under specific conditions.

Wage support through the Productive Branches Programme, covering 50% of the minimum wage, plus JD 25 for social security and JD 25 for transport for up to five years.

Container handling discounts of 50% at the Port of Aqaba for goods exported from Al-Hussein Industrial City for 3–5 years.

Qudah said the news measures aim to attract high value-added industrial investments and create hundreds of new jobs for the residents of Karak and surrounding areas.
