Amman, Nov. 13 (Petra) – Students from 42 Amman, one of the Crown Prince Foundation (CPF)’s flagship programs, secured second place at the 2025 Hackathon by 42 in Asia held in Bangkok, competing against teams from the 42 The Network branches in Thailand, Malaysia, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, and Jordan.
The hackathon centered on key themes of modern governance, under the title: "AI-Powered Document Management for Smart Governments," aimed to develop "innovative" solutions that enhance public-service delivery, strengthen transparency, and improve data management in government institutions.
Five students represented 42 Amman: Mohammad Saleem, a software engineering student and previous winner of the program’s AI Hackathon in Amman; Yaqoub Tayeh, who has participated in all previous editions and won the Dahab Jo Hackathon; Mohammad Karkar, a cybersecurity major and also a winner in Dahab Jo Hackathon; Tasneem Abu Ayyash, a cybersecurity specialist; and Hussam Raqad, a software engineering student.
The event offered students the opportunity to represent Jordan, apply their programming and artificial intelligence skills to real-world challenges, engage with peers from across Asia, and explore advanced tools used in digital governance and data-management systems.
Tina Sweis, Executive Director of 42 Amman, said the participation of 42 Amman students reflects the level of progress Jordanian youth can achieve when provided with a hands-on, experience-based learning environment.
Sweis noted the achievement embodies the core philosophy of 42, which transforms curiosity into skill and ideas into executable solutions. She added that shifting from learning to application is what creates real impact, and that the program’s unconventional learning model helps convert potential into tangible results.
Sweis called for integrating students into broader ecosystems of partners, particularly in Asian countries, which are among the fastest-growing environments in innovation and advanced technologies.
Such international participation opens new horizons for Jordanian students, showcases their competitive talent and technical capabilities on a global stage, and strengthens Jordan’s position as a leading destination for technology and digital skills, she pointed out.
The 42 program, which includes 42 Amman and 42 Irbid, is part of the global 42 The Network headquartered in France, consisting of more than 50 campuses in over 30 countries. Its graduates enjoy high employment rates in global technology companies.
The program provides free opportunities to learn programming with no academic prerequisites, following an innovative methodology aligned with the needs of the digital economy and the future labor market.
