Amman, May 14 (Petra) – Ministry of Social Development released its achievements report for April, highlighting key services provided for the target groups.
In a statement issued by the Ministry's Media Directorate on Thursday, the ministry said it has received 8,247 applications to issue health insurance cards and 172 requests to get exemption from medical expenses.
The ministry also processed 143 transactions for settling inheritance rights and 1,485 applications to issue work permit exemptions.
According to the report, 45 children were admitted to residential care homes, while 30 children were discharged. Additionally, 6 new nurseries were licensed.
The report indicated that 252 women and children benefited from the services of the Social Service Offices – Family and Juvenile Protection Department.
The report revealed a total of 243 minors benefited from the ministry's juvenile rehabilitation and training centers, of whom 93 participated in vocational rehabilitation programs.
Regarding the number of working children, 25 beneficiaries received psychological and social services and interventions according to the case management methodology, and 854 individuals benefited from the services provided by social service offices in Jordan's correctional and rehabilitation centers.
As for the associations sector, the report showed that 6 relevant temporary bodies concluded their work, while 11 temporary entities remained active. 12 dissolution committees completed their work, and 6 associations received warnings.
Regarding the general register of associations, a total of 5,975 registered associations are now active under the current Associations Law.
Fourteen new associations were registered, while 117 others submitted requests to amend their bylaws, and 41 were dissolved.
The report also noted the Ministry's Legal Affairs Directorate referred several entities and individuals to the judiciary for collecting donations without a license.
These cases included social media accounts that published humanitarian cases for the purpose of soliciting donations, in violation of the Social Development Law No. 4 of 2024 and the Fundraising Licensing Regulation No. 24 of 2025.
Verdicts were issued against 11 of these entities/individuals, and 6 cases are currently pending before courts.
As for work of the Anti-Vagrancy Directorate, the report revealed that 506 anti-begging campaigns were conducted, resulting in the apprehension of 915 beggars.
Based on the report's data for the National Aid Fund (NAF)'s activities, a total of 42,129 families received monthly financial assistance program, while 2,123 households were allocated funds through the Unified Cash Support Program.
Additionally, 210 families benefited from the training program, and the fund achieved a 100% response rate to calls received.
