Amman, April 5 (Petra) – Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Azmi Mahafzeh, announced the ministry's Scholarships Directorate will nominate 4,500 additional male and female students from the new applicants for loans from the University Student Support Fund.

According to a ministry statement issued Sunday, Mahafzeh noted these nominations will replace students, who withdrew their applications after the official deadline set last Tuesday for completing the required documents to receive grants and loans for the current academic year 2025-2026.

The ministry indicated that the loans will be distributed for districts that did not previously receive all applicants for grants and loans to ensure "equitable" geographical distribution.

The ministry added that the beneficiary names are expected to be announced this week via SMS messages to the students' phone numbers in their applications.

The total number of nominees for grants and loans has increased from 60,341 to 64,841 students.

In this context, the ministry indicated that the percentage of eligible students who met the criteria jumped from 78% to 84% of all applicants.

The ministry also urged beneficiaries to check their mobile phones and official ministry platforms as soon as the lists are released to begin completing the necessary legal procedures within the deadlines that will be set later.
