Aqaba, Sep. 30 (Petra) – 470 young people from Aqaba signed employment contracts with 23 private-sector companies and institutions in the port city.

This step marked the conclusion of the "From Opportunity to Work" initiative, organized by the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA).

The initiative, which spanned approximately 3 months, facilitated coordination between job seekers and companies following a training period.

In the presence of Aqaba Governor Ayman Awaishah, and representatives from both the public and private sectors, Shadi Majali, ASEZA Chairman said the signed contracts represent a "tangible" outcome of an "effective" partnership with 23 private-sector companies.

On its feasibility, he noted that alignment of employment pathways with actual market needs leads to direct and measurable job opportunities.

As for the employment stages, Majali said the initiative first identified corporate needs, then matched skills, held relevant training and culminated in direct hiring, which is a model that can be further developed.
