Mafraq, Aug. 12 (Petra) -- A total of 500 mosques in Mafraq Governorate have been equipped with audio receiving systems as part of an initiative to connect local mosques to a unified adhan (call to prayer) system, according to Director of the Mafraq Awqaf Directorate Saud Al-Mashaqbeh.
Al-Mashaqbeh said the project has been implemented in four phases, noting that out of 880 mosques designated for inclusion in the governorate, 500 have been connected across the districts of Mafraq, North-Western Badia, and Bal'ama, as well as the sub-district of Rehab.
He added that the project is part of the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs' efforts to upgrade technological infrastructure in mosques and ensure accurate, clear transmission of the call to prayer, praising imams and local communities for their cooperation in implementing the system.
