Amman, April 16 (Petra) – A report on the achievements of ministries and government institutions for March, issued by the Ministry of Government Communications, revealed completion of 7 projects in the digital economy, communications, and postal sectors.

According to the report, Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship launched a pilot program for the government services center in the Abu Nseir area of northern Amman.

This initiative aims to facilitate citizens' access to government services within a "modern and integrated" service environment, which enabled them to complete their transactions in one location, which saved time and effort.

The report also indicated that Jordan Post Company (JPC) launched the Digital Post Office Box project in cooperation with the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, the Royal Geographic Center.

This project aims to provide a "unified and accurate" digital postal address for every citizen, improve delivery services, and support digital transformation and e-commerce in Jordan.

Additionally, a joint training workshop was held by Jordan Post Company and Qatar Post to launch a "secure and fast" digital money transfer service, as part of efforts to develop services and digitally transform through the Universal Postal Union's systems.

A new commemorative stamp issue was also released, titled: "Twinning Petra and Colosseum," celebrating the cultural and civilizational ties between the Jordanian city of Petra and the Colosseum in Rome, both prominent global historical landmarks, and embodying the values of cultural exchange and cooperation between peoples.

The report also highlighted the key achievements of the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (TRC), namely setting the technical specifications for activating the early warning service within the Kingdom via cellular broadcasting technology on mobile devices to ensure optimal activation on terminal devices to meet requirements of the National Center for Security and Crisis Management.

The Commission issued 760 new frequency licenses for various radio communication services, reviewed and updated 230 applications to amend existing frequency licenses, and renewed 1,758 licenses.

On other achievements, the TRC also conducted field inspections and monitoring of licensed and expired entities, seized non-compliant equipment and took necessary legal action against violators, and addressed public health and safety complaints related to radio radiation.

The Commission performed 79 laboratory tests on radio equipment, resolved interference and jamming issues affecting international mobile communication services, and inspected FM radio broadcasting services to ensure service continuity and quality.
