ACI's exports grew by 9.2% to JD2.476b in 1st 4 months of 2026-Data

Amman, May 9 (Petra) – Exports from the Amman Chamber of Industry (ACI) grew by 9.2% in the first third of this year, a "clear" indication of the Jordanian industry's capacity to adapt to the unstable conditions in the region.

The growth, as shown in the chamber's statistical report, also reflects an "increase and diversification" in the geographical access of Jordanian exports, which reached non-traditional African, European, and non-Arab Asian markets.

According to the statistical data contained in the report, ACI's industrial exports reached JD2.476 billion during the first third of this year, compared to JD2.267 billion for the same period in 2025.

All industrial sectors recorded export growth during the same period, with the exception of the engineering and information technology sectors, which declined by 22.3% and 1.1%, respectively.

Meanwhile, the packaging, paper, cardboard, and office supplies sector saw the highest export growth during the first third of this year at 42%, while the construction industries experienced the lowest growth at 3%.

India, the United States, Saudi Arabia, and Iraq were the top destinations for ACI's industrial exports during the first third of this year, with a total value of JD1.217 billion.

Exports from the chamber to India increased by 9.3%, reaching approximately JD336 million, compared to JD307 million for the same period last year, making India the largest recipient of ACI's industrial exports.

The chamber's exports to Saudi Arabia rose by 3.8 percent, reaching JD284 million, compared to JD273 million during the same period in 2025.

Additionally, the chamber's exports to Iraq increased during the first third of this year by 1.6 percent, reaching approximately JD309 million, compared to JD302 million for the same period last year.

However, the chamber's exports to the United States declined by 28% during the first third of this year, falling to JD288 million, compared to JD400 million for the same period in 2025.

During the first 4 months of this year, statistical data also showed a 56.5% increase in exports from ACI's industries to Syria, reaching JD147 million, compared to JD94 million for the same period last year.

The chamber's exports to Palestine also recorded growth of 37.4 percent, reaching JD79 million, compared to JD57 million for the same period in 2025.

As for the geographical distribution of the chamber's exports in the target period, Arab countries led the list with a value of JD1.235 billion, followed by non-Arab Asian nations at JD583 million and North American states at JD307 million.

Exports from ACI's industries to European Union countries amounted to JD180 million, while exports to non-EU European nations reached approximately JD95 million.

The share of African countries stood at about JD19 million, South American countries at JD24 million and other nations at JD32 million, the ACI figures revealed.

The chamber's exports in the first third of this year were distributed across the mining industries sector at JD601 million, chemicals and cosmetics at JD512 million and food, agricultural, and livestock products at JD362 million.

Exports from the engineering, electrical, and IT sectors reached JD276 million, while exports of pharmaceuticals and medical supplies totaled JD223 million and others from leather and textiles stood at 187JD million.

The ACI's remaining exports from the packaging, paper, cardboard, and office supplies sectors approximately stood at JD120 million, plastics and rubber at JD110 million, construction materials at JD78 million, and finally, wood and furniture industries at JD7 million.
