ACI's exports grew by 9.5% in 1st half of 2026-Statistics

Amman, July 4 (Petra) – Exports from Amman Chamber of Industry (ACI) grew by 9.5% in the January-June period of this year, confirming confidence in Jordanian industry, its quality, and its ability to keep pace with unstable regional changes and adapt to challenges.

This expansion has placed these exports at the forefront of the "most influential" economic activities contributing to the Kingdom's economic growth in the first quarter of this year.

The growth, as shown in the ACI's statistical report, also indicates the diversification of products and the geographical reach of Jordanian exports, reaching non-traditional African, European, and non-Arab Asian markets.

According to the statistical data, ACI's exports rose during the first half of this year to JD3.801 billion, compared to JD3.472 billion for the same period last year.

All industrial sectors recorded export growth in the first half of this year, with the exception of the leather, textiles, engineering, and information technology sectors, which declined by 0.4% and 10.8%, respectively.

In contrast, the packaging, paper, cardboard, and office supplies sector saw the highest export growth in the first half of this year, at 44.2%, while the mining industry experienced the lowest growth at 4.8%.

According to statistics, India, the United States, Saudi Arabia, and Iraq were the top destinations for the chamber's exports during the first half of this year, with a total value of JD1.935 billion.

The ACI's exports to India remained stable in value during the first half of this year at approximately JD532 million, while exports to Saudi Arabia increased by 1.9%, reaching about JD426 million , compared to JD417 million for the same period in 2025.

The chamber's exports to Iraq rose by 19% during the first half of this year, reaching approximately JD537 million, compared to JD451 million for the same period last year.

Meanwhile, the chamber's exports to the United States declined by 24.9% during the first half of this year, reaching JD440 million, compared to JD585 million for the same period in 2025.

However, the United States remained the "largest recipient" of the chamber's exports among Arab and foreign countries.

Statistical data also showed an increase in the chamber's exports to Syria during the first half of this year by 27.1%, reaching approximately JD203 million, compared to JD159 million for the same period last year.

Additionally, the chamber's exports to Palestine recorded growth of 32.5% in the first half of this year, reaching approximately JD109 million, compared to JD82 million for the same period in 2025.

The chamber's exports also saw growth in the first half of this year to numerous countries, including, for example, Armenia, Spain, Australia, Argentina, Bahrain, Kuwait, Brazil, Sudan, Norway, Mexico, and many others.

According to the geographical distribution of the chamber's exports iduring this period, Arab countries led the list with a value of JD1.935 billion, followed by non-Arab Asian nations at JD896 million, and North American countries at JD470 million.

The chamber's exports to European Union countries amounted to approximately JD255 million, while exports to non-EU European nations stood at JD131 million, African countries at around JD37 million, South American states at JD36 million, and other countries at approximately JD41 million.

The chamber's exports in the first half of this year were distributed across various sectors: mining industries at approximately JD853 million, chemicals and cosmetics at JD808 million, and food, agricultural, and livestock industries at around JD536 million.

During the same period, exports from the leather and textile industries reached approximately JD503 million, while engineering, electrical, and IT industries totaled JD460 million, and pharmaceuticals and medical supplies amounted to JD389 million.

The chamber's remaining exports in the first half of this year were distributed among the packaging, paper, cardboard, and office supplies sectors at JD176 million, plastics and rubber industries at approximately JD163 million, construction industries at JD104 million, and finally, wood and furniture industries at JD11 million.
