Amman, May 7 (Petra) – The Ministry of Youth, the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, and the King Abdullah II Special Operations Training Center (KASOTC) on Thursday signed a joint cooperation agreement to organize and develop adventure tourism and local experiential tourism in Jordan.

The agreement aims to strengthen cooperation among the three entities, build worker capacities of Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities and enhance their technical skills.

The move also seeks to develop classification standards and procedures for tourism facilities specializing in adventure tourism.

Additionally, the agreement provides a framework to design expert training programs to qualify guides and trainers in this sector, and establish a joint technical committee to oversee the implementation stages.

The agreement reflects "broader" national efforts to enhance institutional coordination in developing adventure tourism activities and local experiences, while improving training and regulatory standards in line with international safety and quality benchmarks.

On the long run, the step will help strengthen sustainable tourism development, improve workforce readiness, and expand specialized training programs that support the national economy and empower Jordanian youth in tourism and development fields.
