Ma'an, Sept. 13 (Petra) - Al-Hussein Bin Talal University (AHU) President Ateef Kharabsheh met with a Turkish academic delegation on Sunday to discuss expanding academic and research partnerships between Jordanian and Turkish universities.
Discussions focused on implementing outcomes from a recent official visit to Ankara and Istanbul by Education Minister Azmi Mahafzah and presidents of Jordanian public universities.
The meeting also addressed a proposal for AHU to lead the organization of an upcoming global conference for the International Universities Council (IUC) in Amman. The union comprises approximately 1,000 universities across 32 countries.
Kharabsheh voiced the university's commitment to expanding international partnerships, noting that global collaboration creates new opportunities for students, faculty, and researchers.
IUC President Orhan Hikmet Azizoğlu, for his part, lauded Jordan's higher education sector and stated the union's keenness to deepen ties with Jordanian institutions, particularly AHU.
To mark the visit, Kharabsheh presented the Turkish delegation with the university shield.
