Amman, Feb. 11 (Petra) -- The Amman Chamber of Industry (AIC) concluded a specialized training program on Fourth Industrial Revolution (Industry 4.0) solutions and applications under the Empowering Small and Medium Enterprises Through Industry 4.0 Technologies project, aimed at strengthening SME readiness for smart manufacturing and digital transformation.

AIC said it delivered the program in cooperation with the Jordan Enterprise Development Corporation (JEDCO) and the Jordan Industry 4.0 and Digitalization Innovation Center (InJo4.0), with support from the Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Supply, as part of implementing the industrial policy plan.

It said it organized 15 training courses covering key Industry 4.0 domains, including smart factory systems, programmable logic controllers (PLC), the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), artificial intelligence in industrial applications, enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, industrial robotics, industrial control systems cybersecurity, and augmented reality in industrial environments.

A total of 285 trainees participated, including engineers and technicians employed by industrial firms, information technology staff, and recent engineering and technical graduates. The courses combined theoretical instruction with hands-on practical training using specialized software and modern industrial tools and systems designed to simulate real factory environments.

The chamber said the program is intended to equip engineering and technical staff in Jordan’s industrial sector with specialized skills to adopt Industry 4.0 applications, support digitalization, raise productivity, improve operational efficiency, and reduce costs.

The training also complements an advisory services program launched under the Tamkeen project to provide technical assistance to industrial companies, including readiness assessments and implementation roadmaps for adopting Industry 4.0 applications.

The AIC said the program helped raise participants’ applied awareness of Industry 4.0 technologies, strengthen capabilities to analyze industrial processes and identify opportunities for improvement and digital transformation, and support companies in building qualified teams to deliver digital transformation projects.

The Empowering Small and Medium Enterprises Through Industry 4.0 Technologies project supports the Economic Modernization Vision through advancing industrial digital transformation, creating higher-quality jobs, and building a more efficient, resilient, and sustainable industrial sector, said the AIC.
