Ajloun, April 9 (Petra) -- Ajloun National University (ANU) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Damascus University to enhance academic and research cooperation, including student and faculty exchange, joint programs, and scientific conferences.

The agreement was signed during a high-level official visit, led by ANU's chairman, Feras Hanandeh, to Damascus University that concluded Wednesday.

The visit came at the invitation of the Syrian university and reflects its confidence in ANU’s expertise and its interest in expanding partnerships with "distinguished" academic institutions, particularly in information technology and artificial intelligence.

The delegates were received by Damascus University President Mustafa Saem Al-Dahr, along with vice presidents, deans, and department directors. The meeting underscored mutual respect and opened broader prospects for joint collaboration.

During the talks, Al-Dahr expressed interest in expanding cooperation and benefiting from ANU’s advanced expertise in modern technology fields, particularly artificial intelligence and information technology, in line with efforts to strengthen Arab academic integration.

The visit also featured a tour of several faculties and facilities, including law and Sharia, pharmacy, and information engineering, as well as the university’s library and laboratories, where the delegation reviewed academic and research capabilities.

Hanandeh said the visit reflects "strong" ties among Arab educational institutions, stressing the ANU's commitment to expanding "strategic" partnerships, mainly in technology and artificial intelligence, to enhance knowledge exchange and improve the quality of education and scientific research.

He affirmed the ANU's readiness to support this cooperation to serve mutual interests.
