Ajloun, July 9 (Petra) -- Ajloun National University is working to enhance awareness among students and members of the local community through a series of educational and social initiatives addressing intellectual, social, and technological issues, while promoting values of responsibility and belonging and supporting a safe university environment.

University President and Director of the Artificial Intelligence and Digital Transformation Center at the Association of Arab Universities, Dr. Firas Al-Hanandeh, said the establishment of the Artificial Intelligence Center forms part of the university’s strategic approach to keeping pace with global technological advancements and developing graduates equipped with the skills needed for the modern labor market.

Speaking to the Jordan News Agency (Petra), Al-Hanandeh said the center plays an important role in supporting national digital transformation and advancing the use of technology and knowledge. He added that the university aims to position the center as a platform for artificial intelligence research, innovation, and knowledge development in Jordan and the wider region.

He noted that the university has established partnerships with several institutions to support its efforts in artificial intelligence and digital transformation, while also prioritizing awareness activities as part of its academic and social mission. These activities include seminars, workshops, and lectures covering topics such as campus violence, hate speech, bullying, drug prevention, mental and social well-being, and intellectual security.

Al-Hanandeh explained that these programs are implemented in cooperation with government entities, security institutions, and community organizations to encourage dialogue, tolerance, and respect for others, while strengthening positive behaviors among students and supporting a university environment based on responsibility and mutual respect.

He highlighted the university’s focus on addressing bullying through awareness campaigns targeting both the campus environment and digital platforms. The campaigns aim to raise awareness of the social and psychological effects of bullying and promote confidence and respectful interaction among students.

The university also carries out traffic awareness programs and specialized lectures in cooperation with relevant authorities to encourage compliance with traffic regulations, enhance public safety awareness, and contribute to reducing traffic accidents.

Al-Hanandeh said the university has launched an energy conservation awareness campaign titled "Aware Generation... More Efficient Energy... Stronger Jordan", organized by the Deanship of Student Affairs and the Entrepreneurship and Technology Club. The campaign aims to promote sustainability, encourage responsible energy use, and increase environmental awareness among students and the local community.

He stressed that the university continues to reinforce national belonging and loyalty by involving students in national occasions and community initiatives. He added that supporting youth and raising their awareness is a shared national responsibility, with universities playing a key role in preparing a generation capable of addressing intellectual and technological challenges and contributing to national development.
