Amman, Mar. 5 (Petra) – Al Maqasid Charity Hospital, affiliated with the Jordanian Zakat Fund of the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, treated 487 patients during its free medical day launched in Zarqa governorate.

In a statement Thursday, the hospital's Director General, Dr. Bassam Shloul, stated a medical team from various specialties took part in the initiative, which was held as part of the Preaching and Guidance Forums under auspices of Awqaf Minister, Dr. Mohammad Khalaileh.

Shloul added that the staff conducted medical and laboratory tests for the patients and dispensed free medications, adding that ultrasound scans were also used to examine pregnant women and provide them with necessary treatments.

Shloul noted the number of beneficiaries of the free medical days implemented by the hospital since the beginning of this year has reached 1,812 cases over five days.

On their goals, he stated these medical days is part of the hospital's plan to provide free healthcare services to local communities with support from the Zakat Fund.

Since 2018, he said the hospital has conducted 125 free medical days in various governorates of the Kingdom, during which more than 69,000 patients were treated.
