Cairo, March 30 (Petra) – Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit on Monday strongly condemned Iranian attacks on electricity and water desalination facilities in Kuwait.

"Any Iranian military aggression against any Arab state, in any form or scale, is unacceptable and categorically condemned," Aboul Gheit reiterated in a statement.

He said Iran's "treacherous and immoral" targeting of vital civilian infrastructure, such as water networks, energy and electricity facilities, transport hubs, and residential areas, and terrorizing civilians, is a flagrant violation of international law and its established principles, and a full-fledged war crime under international humanitarian law, for which the Iranian regime will bear the full consequences, including compensation for damage.

Jamal Rushdi, official spokesperson of the Arab League Secretary-General, reiterated the need for Iran to immediate and fully comply with UN Security Council Resolution 2817 and cease its brutal attacks on Arab states.

Arab Parliament Speaker Mohammed Al-Yamahi also expressed strong condemnation of the blatant Iranian missile and drone attacks on a camp in Kuwait that injured 10 members of the armed forces, and attacks on power and desalination plants. He wished the injured a speedy recovery.

Iran's continued hostility towards Arab states is a flagrant violation of all international humanitarian law conventions and the principles of the UN Charter that push the region towards chaos and further insecurity and instability, said Al-Yamahi.

He called on the international community to take a firm stance to stop Iranian violations against Arab states.

Al-Yamahi reaffirmed the Arab Parliament's solidarity with Kuwait and other Arab states that were targeted by Iran in all measures they take to protect their security and stability and safeguard their territories and sovereignty.
