Arab Potash Company to fund construction of new health center in Karak

Amman, July 15 (Petra) – As part of its ongoing commitment to support the health sector and enhance quality of services provided to local communities, the Arab Potash Company (APC) announced it has awarded a tender for the construction of Badhan and Bardah Health Center in the southern Karak Governorate, at a total cost of approximately JD1.5 million.

Fully funded by the company, the project falls under the APC's "integrated" corporate social responsibility program, which supports the health and education sectors.

The tender was awarded by the APC's technical committee for health projects, who comprises representatives from the Ministry of Public Works and Housing, the Ministry of Health, and the company.

This committee will oversee the project's implementation and monitor its various phases, in accordance with the highest technical and engineering standards.

Under the project, a new health center in the Badhan and Bardah areas will be built, covering an area of approximately 856 square meters.

The two-story facility will be "fully equipped" and will contribute to providing healthcare services, which aims to be comprehensive, serving the residents of the area and raising the level of medical care to meet their current and future needs.

Scheduled for completion in May 2027, the project will be overseen by the relevant technical committee to ensure its implementation, based on the established timeline to strengthen the health infrastructure in Karak governorate.

In press remarks, Chairman of APC Board of Directors Shehadeh Abu Hudeib, affirmed the initiative represents a "new practical" step within the company's integrated program to support the health and education sectors.

He noted the company views funding health services as a "direct" investment in the Jordanian people and quality of life within local communities, mainly in areas that require more development and service projects.

Abu Hudeib added that this project is part of a program, which the company has allocated approximately JD30 million over 3 years, to support the Kingdom's health and education sectors.

This effort, he noted, is part of the company's contribution to national initiatives implemented by the government in partnership with private sector institutions, which would strengthen "institutionalizing" social responsibility and solidifying its commitment to this cause.

He cited role of the private sector as a "key partner" in achieving sustainable community development.
