Amman, Feb 11 (Petra) - Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Maj. Gen. Yousef Huneiti inaugurated on Wednesday the Karak National Vocational Training Center (KNVT) in Karak Governorate, affiliated with the National Employment and Training Company. He was received by the company’s director general.

Maj. Gen. Huneiti listened to a briefing from the company’s director general on the center, its objectives, and the training programs it offers, which were prepared in line with labor market studies and in partnership with the private sector to ensure alignment between training outcomes and actual needs and to raise employment rates among graduates. The move reflects the armed forces' role in supporting vocational training pathways, empowering youth, and enhancing employment opportunities, and therefore serving the national economy.

The army chief toured the center’s facilities and reviewed its workshops, modern equipment, and practical and applied training mechanisms, praising the advanced level of the training process and the model environment that simulates real labor market conditions.

Huneiti stressed the importance of continuing to develop training programs in line with rapid technological advances, with a focus on training quality and building practical skills, reflecting the professionalism of the armed forces in supporting the vocational and technical education and training sector and serving local communities across the governorates.

The center comprises four main buildings with a capacity of up to 220 trainees per intake and offers specialized disciplines aligned with future professions, including occupational safety and health, fiber optics, smartphone applications, a virtual reality laboratory, and maintenance of electric and hybrid vehicles. It also offers specializations for women, including tailoring and cosmetology, enhancing inclusiveness and equal opportunities in training.

A number of senior Jordan Armed Forces officers attended the opening.
