Army chief opens new facilities for 6th Royal Guard Mechanized Battalion

Amman, June 22 (Petra) -- Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Maj. Gen. Yousef Hunaiti inaugurated on Monday the new headquarters and facilities of the 6th Royal Guard Mechanized Battalion. The unit operates under the Martyr Wasfi Al-Tal 2nd Mechanized Brigade within the Eastern Military Zone.
The inauguration took place during an inspection visit where the army chief evaluated the battalion's operational and training readiness.
Upon his arrival, Maj. Gen. Hunaiti was received by the Commander of the Eastern Military Zone. In the presence of senior officers from the Jordan Armed Forces (JAF), he listened to briefings by the brigade and battalion commanders covering ongoing training programs, logistical setups, and administrative plans designed to maintain maximum operational efficiency.
Maj. Gen. Hunaiti stated that constructing the new battalion facilities according to modern engineering standards represents a strategic step forward in the armed forces' modernization path. He noted that the project enhances the military's adaptability and provides an advanced working environment that supports overall capacity building.
The army chief added that these structural projects reflect a comprehensive vision aimed at developing a modern, integrated defense capabilities framework equipped to handle changing security challenges. This approach, he emphasized, reinforces the armed forces' primary national mandate to protect state security and stability.
During the visit, Maj. Gen. Hunaiti toured the new installations, inspected technical equipment, and observed part of the live training exercises. He concluded by praising the professionalism, morale, and execution capabilities demonstrated by the battalion's personnel.
