Amman, May 19 (Petra) -- The Eastern Military Zone on Tuesday morning foiled an attempt to smuggle a quantity of narcotics using electronically guided balloons.

Border Guard units detected the balloons in coordination with security agencies and the Anti-Narcotics Department. They were intercepted and brought down with their cargo inside Jordanian territory.

The seized narcotics were referred to the competent authorities for the necessary legal procedures.
