Amman, July 23 (Petra) -- An official military source at the General Command of the Jordanian Armed Forces–Arab Army said that the Royal Jordanian Air Force dealt with four missiles and six Iranian drones targeting Jordanian territory over the past 24 hours.

The source said air defense systems intercepted and shot down three of the incoming missiles on Thursday morning, while the remaining missile fell in a remote uninhabited area. The source added that the six drones were intercepted and neutralize yesterday evening, confirming that the operations resulted in no casualties or material damage.

Teams from the Royal Engineering Corps immediately deployed to the crash sites and the locations of the interception debris to secure the areas and neutralize remaining hazards in accordance with established technical and security procedures, the source added.

The source stressed that the Jordanian Armed Forces–Arab Army continues to monitor Jordanian airspace and maintains the highest levels of operational readiness to respond to any threat targeting the Kingdom’s security and the safety of its citizens, in line with applicable rules of engagement.

The source also called on citizens not to approach the locations where objects or debris have fallen, to immediately report any such findings, rely on official sources for information, and avoid circulating rumors or unverified reports.
