Amman, October 9 (Petra) – Chairman of the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA) , Shadi Majali, said the authority is making progress in implementing its strategic plan for the years (2024-2028), within the framework of its 2040 master plan. Majali reviewed the plan's key aspects, which aim to develop infrastructure, promote investments, support sustainable growth, leadership and innovation, achieve a smart city, improve quality of life and services and institutional development.

Majali added that the plan aims to carry out 197 major investment and development projects, mainly construction and expansion of Aqaba's ports and logistics services, development of smart infrastructure, launch of initiatives to improve environment and health sectors, and diversification of the tourist product. Majali made the remarks during a meeting with MP Ibrahim Tarawneh, head of the Lower House Al Mithaq Bloc, to review the status of ASEZA's investment and development plans.

On other efforts, Majali noted support for maintaining scholarship training programs, aimed at providing job opportunities for Aqaba residents in line with labor market needs.

Majali stated Aqaba has recently witnessed a "significant" increase in the volume of investments in the tourism and entertainment, logistics services, transport and green hydrogen sectors. In turn, Tarawneh said Aqaba has an "economic and administrative uniqueness and constitutes a fundamental pillar of the national economy," affirming the bloc's readiness to cooperate with ASEZA to achieve its vision.
