Aqaba, Aug. 6 (Petra) -- Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA) Commissioner for Economic Affairs and Investment Mohammad Abu Omar held talks with Patrick Chow, Economic Counselor at the U.S. Embassy in the Kingdom, on strengthening economic and commercial cooperation and broadening investment partnerships in the Aqaba Special Economic Zone.
Abu Omar said ASEZA is continuing to enhance its investment environment through a combination of incentives and flexible legislation designed to provide investors with an attractive and secure business climate. He added that Aqaba's integrated port system serves as Jordan's main gateway to the Red Sea, supporting trade and logistics while providing access to Gulf and regional markets and creating investment opportunities across a range of economic sectors.
Chow said the Aqaba Special Economic Zone offers a number of investment advantages, citing its strategic location and developed infrastructure. He added that the United States is keen to advance commercial diplomacy and encourage greater U.S. investment in Jordan in a way that supports the interests of both countries.
The meeting was part of ASEZA's efforts to strengthen economic ties with international partners and promote investment opportunities in value-added sectors, supporting economic development goals and reinforcing Aqaba's position as a regional center for investment, trade and logistics services.
