Amman, July 29 (Petra) - The Ministry of Water and Irrigation uncovered on Wednesday 22 illegal tappings along the Disi water conveyor and seven additional violations on main supply lines in Ma'an.

According to a ministry statement, inspectors found that air relief valves along the Disi main pipeline had been broken open to divert thousands of cubic meters of water into illegal tankers for commercial sale.

Technical teams repaired the damage and restored full system integrity without interrupting the main water flow.

In the Husseiniya area of Ma'an Governorate, authorities disconnected seven unauthorized lines supplying commercial car washes, and seized 10 pumps and storage tanks.

The Public Prosecution launched an investigation to identify and bring those responsible to justice.
