Authorities seal illegal wells, remove water encroachments in Amman, Ruseifa

Amman, May 3 (Petra) – Ministry of Water and Irrigation, in cooperation with security departments, conducted field crackdowns to identify and seal illegal wells and remove encroachments on water sources in Amman and Zarqa governorates.
In a statement issued Sunday, the ministry said an illegal well was sealed in Khan al-Zabib area south of Amman. Technical teams completed the necessary procedures and prepared the required reports in the incidents.
In a joint campaign, the teams removed encroachments on water pipelines that were being used to supply illegal properties in Ruseifa district.
The necessary reports were filed, and the case was referred to the relevant authorities to complete the legal procedures.
Additionally, Jordan Water Authority valued the citizens' efforts in reporting attacks on water infrastructure and sources as a "crime punishable by law with imprisonment and large fines." //Petra// AG
