Ajloun, June 23 (Petra) -- Ismail Al-Khatba, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, reaffirmed the ministry's long-standing dedication to honoring individuals who memorize the Holy Quran.

Al-Khatba noted that this commitment aligns with prophetic traditions and supports the "Quran Khatmah" (complete recitation) initiative launched by His Majesty King Abdullah II across the kingdom's mosques.

Al-Khatba made the remarks on Tuesday on behalf of the Minister of Awqaf during a ceremony honoring Mohammad Abdel-Salam Ziad, who completed the full memorization of the Quran at the Saad bin Muadh Quran Center in Ajloun. He highlighted the vital role of Islamic values in shaping a generation capable of positively addressing contemporary challenges and social issues.

Safwan Al-Qudah, Director of the Ajloun Awqaf Directorate, stated that the ministry's nationwide efforts demonstrate that Quranic education is a continuous, institutional project aimed at character building and community development rather than a seasonal activity.

Omar Shwayyat, supervisor of the Saad bin Muadh Quran Center, provided an overview of the center's track record, noting that Ziad is the 48th student to complete full memorization at the institution. He added that three of the center's members have won international competitions, four have won the Hashemite Quranic Competition, and more than 20 students have secured top positions in various competitions over the past five years.

The student's father, Abdel-Salam Ziad, expressed his appreciation to the Ministry of Awqaf, the center's administration, and everyone who supported his son throughout his studies.

At the conclusion of the event, Al-Khatba presented awards to the student and several center supervisors. The ceremony was attended by local officials, lawmakers, religious leaders and community members.
