Amman, July 9 (Petra)-- The Kingdom of Bahrain has strongly condemned the repeated Iranian attacks targeting its territory, as well as Kuwait and Jordan, using missiles and drones.
In a statement carried by the Bahrain News Agency (BNA) on Thursday, the Bahraini Ministry of Foreign Affairs described the attacks as a dangerous escalation that threatens regional security and stability. It said the assaults constitute a blatant violation of the sovereignty of states, international law, the United Nations Charter, UN Security Council Resolution 2817, and the principles of good neighborliness, undermining de-escalation efforts and jeopardizing regional peace and security.
The ministry renewed Bahrain's call on the international community, particularly the UN Security Council, to uphold its legal responsibilities by taking a firm and deterrent stance against what it described as Iran's systematic attacks.
It also urged the establishment of an effective mechanism to ensure implementation, accountability, and compensation, while compelling Iran to fully comply with its international obligations by respecting the sovereignty of states and immediately and permanently halting its hostile and terrorist activities.
Bahrain further stressed the importance of guaranteeing freedom of navigation through the Strait of Hormuz and safeguarding vital maritime routes, saying such measures are essential to reinforcing regional security and stability and promoting development and prosperity for the peoples of the region and the world.
