Salt, July 22 (Petra) -- Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship Sami Smeirat officially inaugurated the Balqa Government Services Center in Salt on Wednesday, alongside Minister of Public Works and Housing Maher Abul Samen, Governor of Balqa Faisal Al-Masaeed, and several members of parliament representing the governorate.
The center's official opening forms part of ongoing government efforts to modernize the public sector, improve citizen experience, and facilitate access to government services within an integrated, modern facility.
The official inauguration follows a trial operation period launched on May 21 to test system readiness and operational procedures, ensuring the efficient delivery of high-quality services.
Smeirat emphasized that government service centers serve as a cornerstone project under the Public Sector Modernization Roadmap. He noted that the initiative aims to streamline procedures, reduce processing times, and offer comprehensive services under a single roof.
The government continues to expand its network of service centers while refining their operational models to enhance efficiency, flexibility, and public trust in government operations, Smeirat added.
Highlighting the center's performance during its soft launch, Smeirat said the results reflect strong public demand and high satisfaction levels. He stressed the importance of continuously evaluating user feedback to further streamline procedures and boost operational performance.
The Balqa center offers a consolidated suite of 176 government services provided by 27 public institutions. Key services include those of the Supreme Judge Department, Driver and Vehicle Licensing Department, Notary Public, Residency and Borders Directorate, Civil Status and Passports Department, health insurance, and education, among others.
By consolidating these services into one location, the facility allows citizens to complete multiple transactions quickly without traveling between separate government departments.
Operating under an updated service model supported by trained personnel and digital systems, the center has handled 6,603 visitors and completed 10,744 transactions since its soft launch. Overall citizen satisfaction reached 97%, with a Net Promoter Score (NPS) of 95 points.
To accommodate various schedules, the center operates on flexible hours from 9:00 a.m. until midnight daily, ensuring consistent and convenient access to public services.
