London, May 7 (Petra)-- British Prime Minister Keir Starmer has pledged not to resign despite significant losses suffered by the Labour Party in the UK local elections.
According to the British newspaper The Independent, Starmer told party members on Friday morning: "These are difficult results, but tough times do not weaken my determination to deliver the change we promised in the general election they strengthen it." Labour lost control of eight local councils and saw a noticeable decline in the number of seats it holds, while the right-wing Reform Party, led by Nigel Farage, made significant gains in the elections.
