Amman, March 23 (Petra) – The Central Bank of Jordan (CBJ) said that five-dinar banknotes bearing the signatures of the Minister of Finance and CBJ Governor were released into circulation during the Eid holiday.
The CBJ stated that the banknotes are legal tender and have been issued without restrictions, circulating alongside previously released banknotes of the same denomination.
It added that the five-dinar notes issued during the Eid holiday are part of the currently circulating fifth series and are identical in design, appearance and security features. The variation in signatures reflects different issuance dates and does not affect the authenticity or value of the banknotes.
The CBJ called for verifying banknote authenticity by checking integrated security features, including the watermark, security thread and microprinting.
Further information is available on the CBJ's website.
