Amman, Dec. 29 (Petra) -- Chinese Ambassador to Jordan Guo Wei affirmed the depth and strength of the strategic partnership between Jordan and the People’s Republic of China across various fields.

In a press conference on Monday, the ambassador called on the international community to focus on the Palestinian cause and work toward peace and stability instead of further conflicts.

He noted that Beijing will host the China–Arab States Summit in mid-2026, describing it as a milestone for advancing bilateral relations.

Guo said the recent visit of Wang Yi, a member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the foreign minister of the People’s Republic of China, to Jordan was successful and productive.

He expressed appreciation for Jordan’s support of the One-China principle, under which the government of the People’s Republic of China is recognized as the sole legitimate government representing China.

The ambassador stressed that China views the Taiwan issue as central to its core interests and a red line that must not be crossed, urging adherence to the One-China principle and affirming that Beijing will continue efforts toward peaceful reunification.

He added that China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has reiterated that the Taiwan question lies at the heart of China’s core interests.
