Salt, Dec. 21 (Petra) – Cultural Affairs Adviser at the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China and Director of the Chinese Cultural Center Zhao Xiaoqiang, accompanied by a delegation from the Chinese Cultural Center and Educational Adviser for Cultural Exchange Reem Hussein, visited Al-Balqa Applied University as part of academic and educational cooperation between the two countries.
During the visit, the delegation reviewed the university’s advanced digital achievements and projects of the Faculty of Artificial Intelligence and learned about distinguished models of student accomplishments that reflect their role as active global citizens who employ knowledge and technology in serving communities and shaping the future.
University President Ahmad Fakhri Al-Ajlouni said during his meeting with the delegation that the university places international partnerships as a strategic priority, stemming from its mission in applied education and innovation. He noted that cooperation with Chinese academic and cultural institutions opens broad horizons for exchanging expertise, enhancing scientific research, and enabling students to engage in global educational experiences.
He added that the university is keen on building knowledge bridges that contribute to preparing graduates capable of competing globally and serving sustainable development goals.
For his part, Xiaoqiang affirmed the strength of cultural and educational relations between the two countries, stressing the importance of investing in youth and scientific research as two fundamental pillars for sustainable development and building bridges of understanding between peoples.
Educational Adviser Hussein led an interactive youth dialogue with students at the university theater, addressing China’s integrated experience that combines culture, tourism, and trade, and how China harnessed technology to serve humanity, preserve identity, and build sustainable development models.
She also addressed the qualitative progress of higher education in China and its global competitiveness, calling on students to innovate pioneering national models rooted in local specificity while confidently engaging the world. She affirmed that Jordan’s conscious human capital represents a genuine competitive advantage.
The visit included a presentation by the Chinese Cultural Center on the achievements of the Silk Road, through panels and interactive stations that provided a comprehensive vision of the civilizational, economic, and cultural dimensions of the Chinese experience.
The visit underscores the role of education as a bridge for development and innovation and as an effective platform for enabling students to engage in global dialogues based on knowledge and mutual respect.
