Culture Minister Highlights Zarqa’s Strategic Role in Jordan’s Cultural Landscape

Zarqa, June 2 (Petra) -- Minister of Culture Mustafa Rawashdeh underscored the strategic importance of Zarqa Governorate as a hub of creative talent and cultural diversity, stressing the ministry’s commitment to providing all possible support and facilitation to ensure the success of cultural projects and activities that contribute to community development and youth awareness.

During a meeting on Tuesday with Zarqa Governorate Council Chairman Jamal Abu Eid and attended by governorate stakeholders, Rawashdeh discussed a range of cultural issues in the governorate and ways to invigorate its creative and cultural scene.

The meeting also explored mechanisms to strengthen cooperation between the Ministry of Culture and the Zarqa Governorate Council in supporting cultural organizations and creative professionals, as well as developing the infrastructure of cultural centers across the governorate to advance intellectual and artistic activities.

For his part, Abu Eid outlined the governorate council’s plans and vision for supporting the cultural sector through allocated budgets, noting that cultural and developmental work ranks among the council’s top priorities.

He emphasized the importance of partnership with the ministry in implementing sustainable programs that serve the residents of the governorate.

The meeting concluded with discussions on a number of cultural projects and intellectual forums that could be implemented in the coming period, with the aim of broadening community participation and fostering a comprehensive cultural renaissance in the governorate.
